Carolyn Parker Wall
We mourn the loss of our friends, neighbors and relatives who have passed. Our memories of life at the Lake are entertwined with our memories of those who shared their lives with us here.
Born on 15 July 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, Carolyn was the daughter of John and Madeline Parker. She was raised in Brooklyn and later moved to Staten Island with her husband Robert and daughter Barbara.
Growing up, she spent her summers at “Black Rock” on Yankee Lake, New York, having fun and enjoying the Regattas with her siblings Rosemary and Johnny and her cousins Alice, Anthony and Robert Spina, and Joan, Lydia and Roseanne Legrand on North Shore Drive.
Carolyn and her husband purchased a house on Yankee Lake in 1979, which they enjoyed over the many years with their daughter Barbara, son-in-law Jon, and grandchildren Robert, Christine, and JJ.
Carolyn graduated with a B.A. in Education from Brooklyn College, and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Wagner College. She taught first grade in Dyker Heights as a New York City Public School Teacher for 25 years.
After retiring, Carolyn went to work as a grandmother, and split her time enjoying the winters with her husband and family in Naples, Florida, never missing a summer at Yankee Lake.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Barbara Wall-LeTendre, son-in-law Jon LeTendre, grandchildren Robert, Christine and John Joseph (JJ), sister Rosemary Romano, and brother Johnny Parker.
The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Pity Catholic Church on Staten Island, New York.
