Allan Sanford
We mourn the loss of our friends, neighbors and relatives who have passed. Our memories of life at the Lake are entertwined with our memories of those who shared their lives with us here.
The YLPA is sad to report the passing of our friend, colleague, and neighbor, Allan Sanford.
Allan grew up in New York City, was a graduate of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and built a career as an Art Director for many years at Morgan Stanley. He lived all his adult life in Greenwich Village.
Allan was a long-time Yankee Lake lover, and made the Lake his home after he retired. He was a member of the YLPA Board of Directors in the early years of the Association, contributing time and talents to help shape what the YLPA would become. Bringing his artistic skills to bear, Allan was pleased to create the YLPA logo, which still graces our letterhead, emails, website, T-shirts, and other YLPA products.
Allan also donated the piano that currently resides in the front room at the clubhouse. The piano has been used over the years to bring musical joy to any number of events.
The Board of Directors of the YLPA will remember Allan for his service to our community and for sharing of himself in ways that will live on for years to come. Our deepest condolences to his wife, Shannon, and his entire family.
