Mary Theresa Wexler, 67, of Grand Island, Florida, passed away in her home after a courageous battle with cancer on 1 July 2020. She was born 18 May 1953 in New York, New York.
Mary is survived by her dear husband of 24 years, Bob Wexler; her children: Tara Summers of Fleming Island, Florida; Brian Kurta (Christine) of Utah; Chris Edwards (Coleen) of Rock Hill, New York; Jennifer Wood (Willis) of Pine Bush, New York; and Robert Wexler Jr. of Florida. She was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings, Martin Callinan (Linda), Stephen Callinan (Eileen), Peggy Modelson (Andy), and Kevin Callinan along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Church, the Anna Miller Society of the Elks, and the Trout Lake Nature Center. Mary loved the outdoors. One of her favorite pastimes was bird-watching. She enjoyed cruising and traveling with Bob. She was one of the most compassionate, positive, happy ladies ever. She loved helping others and seeking for their happiness.
There will be a visitation and prayer service at Beyers Funeral Home, 279 South Central Avenue in Umatilla, Florida on 6 July from 6-8 PM, and a funeral mass will be conducted at 10 AM on 7 July at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, 218 Ocklawaha Avenue in Eustis, Florida.
Friends and family are strongly urged to wear masks for the protection of everyone. There will be a live streaming of the mass for those who cannot attend. There will be a link on this obituary at a future time. Mary will be buried at a future time in New York.
